Anam Cara and the Isle of Skye

I met my friend Craig Dickson at the Sound Healing Conference in Malvern, England many years ago because Eileen and I were teaching a Biofield Tuning class and she was the Keynote speaker at this conference once class was finished.

Malvern was one of our favorite places to visit because there is a ley line that runs right through the Malvern Hills of Outstanding Beauty and right into a crystal shop - how synchronous! It was just as synchronous meeting Craig because I had always wanted to go to Scotland, but at that point I hadn’t. Craig said that he worked and lived on a retreat center in the highlands of Inverness called Anam Cara - which translates to Soul Friend.

After some back and forth I was able to solidify the very first Biofield Tuning Foundations class in Scotland and my co-teacher and I flew out to teach these amazing humans how to use tuning forks on this sacred land. We had such an amazing class and as usual it was so hard saying goodbye to our students, who had become our friends and even extended family.

Not surprisingly I fell in love with Scotland and promised to be back one day, and that day finally happened during the summer of 2023 when I hosted another weekend event to help the Foundations students there be able to practice Biofield Tuning, ask questions, get help with whatever holes were in their memory and learn some more new things that I had brought them.

We set up these days so that everyone could share something they wanted too and it ended up being an absolutely gorgeous skill-share and meet up from all the corners of the country!

After our meet-up Craig, his daughter and I went to the Fairy Pools and the Isle of Skye to see the Old Man of Storr. As you all know by now I love sacred spaces especially where the veil is thin and there is much to be seen and discovered. I read a book about the Isle of Skye when I was little and it was written as fiction - because the author said it had to be - and that all the magical things in the book that he wrote about were actually true (and I believe him!)

The Isle of Skye is considered magical for quite a few reasons but one of the main ones that you’ll hear a lot is that its a place where the veil (between this world and the next) is the thinnest. The rocks are said to be alive and the weather isn’t just weather, but spirits passing or the breath of ancient beings.

The story of Old Man of Storr is that he was a giant who died and collapsed on the land and his fingers became the spires of rock and his face became the cliff side - the “old Man” is the thumb or largest spiral still standing.

When you’re there you feel like you are watching and observing this shifts in weather and temperature and presence, but you also feel like you are being observed right back. It’s an extremely transformative and hugely magical place and I feel so lucky I was able to spend time there.

I am so grateful to Craig and Anam Cara for being such lovely hosts and I can’t wait to return again one day!

Xoxo
